Glitchdove Games (or GDG) is the moniker I put out all of my gaming work from. I’m Glitchdove (as you probably guessed!) but I’m still called all sorts of things: Glitch, Dove, Agens, Roman, Frumentarius. Whichever you want to call me is fine, and there’s plenty of stuff not on the list I’ll respond to! I, like every game developer on the planet, grew up on video games. Before I learned to read and slightly after I had motor control over my thumbs I was playing Heavy Gear, Space Station: Silicon Valley, Battle Beast, along with many, many Mechwarrior games (2: Mercenaries was child-me’s favourite.) I lived through DoS and dial-up. Somehow I survived; still not entirely sure how.
I’ve worked as a freelance artist for over half my life now, and I just never found anything that sat right with me. I’ve pondered working with video games for the whole of my existence - I had planned out 4-5 long games before I actually got into things - but my career desires have flopped around a little bit. It’s always been art based. I knew that whatever I decided to do, I would have to stay in the arts. There was no other way to assure myself lifelong happiness. I dabbled here and there in many arts and, at the risk of tooting my own horn, became pretty good at quite a few artsy activities! Then I remembered my good old friend and my favourite hobby, video games. It requires a lot of the things I’ve learned over the years and forces me to learn a few more. To me, it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.
A good chunk of who I am as a person is in the sidebar to your left, put into bullets for easier processing. I already feel weird with how much I’ve talked about myself so I’ll just leave it at that. I’ll just say this: apocalypses are my niche and you’re going to see a lot of them. Let’s blow up the world together, you and I.
No matter what I’ve worked on, it’s always been very important to me to be active with those who enjoy my work! Please don’t hesitate to use the contact page to speak with me or approach me on one of the listed sites to the right. I will always at least read it - I will absolutely respond if I can!
Thank you so much for visiting! Let’s end the world together, you and I.
